Family Indemnity Plan
The Family Indemnity plan is a group insurance plan offered by CUNA Caribbean Insurance to Antilles Employees’ Credit Union members. This plan provides financial aid and comfort in the times of family death. The Family Indemnity Plan covers funeral expenses for you, the member, and five (5) other eligible family members.
Persons eligible for coverage include:
- Member’s Spouse (Common-law included)
- Children who are aged 1 to 25 and unmarried
- Combination of up to two (2) persons from parents or in-laws (up to the age of 76)
- Children who are permanently disabled are covered for the duration of their lives once they are enrolled before age 26.
No medical examination is required. Full benefits are received for each person where valid claims are made. The Family Indemnity Plan offers lifetime insurance coverage, once enrolled before age seventy-six (76). Claims are usually processed and paid within two (2) business days.
FIP Enrolment Requirements:
- Completion of the enrolment form, to be done at the Credit Union’s Office.
- Proof of identity via any government-issued identification (National ID Card, Driver’s Permit or Passport)
- Proof of relationship via a copy of the birth certificate and/or marriage certificate (where applicable), inclusive of an affidavit for Common-law relationships
- Documents relating to name change: Deed poll and other documents notarized by a notary public or justice of the peace.
- Recent Utility Bill (issued last billing cycle)
- First two (2) months premiums
In no event may you or your covered family members be insured through more than one Family Indemnity Plan Member Certificate. There is a six-month waiting period from the effective date of your certificate, during which time only claims arising from accidental death will be paid.
Medical Assistance Plan
The Medical Assistance Plan provides a benefit to members of Antilles Employees’ Credit Union and their dependents. The Medical Assistance Plan reimburses members for expenses incurred for medical assistance, dental care, vision care and major medical coverage.
Benefits derived:
- Medical ( Maximum benefit: 1,000,000.00 for ages 65 & under and 500,000.00 for ages 66-99 for three (3) years)
- Dental Services (maximum benefit: $2,000.00 for ages 65 & under and $1,500.00 for ages 66 – 99 per calendar year)
- Vision Care (maximum benefit: $1,750.00 for ages 65 & under and $1,250.00 for ages 66 – 99 per calendar year )
Persons eligible for coverage include:
- Spouse (Common-law included)
- Children who are aged 1 to 18. Coverage can be obtained for children after age 18 once evidence of full-time enrollment at a University is submitted each year
Monthly premiums by categories:
- Single 65 & Under – $236.50
- Single 66 to 99 – $346.50
- One Dependant 65 & Under – $418.00
- One Dependant 66 to 99 – $649.00
- Family 65 & Under – $632.50
MIP Enrollment Requirements:
- Completion of the enrollment form.
- Completion of a medical questionnaire.
- First two (2) months premiums.

Family Critical Illness Plan
When a serious diagnosis strikes, there’s nothing like the support of your loved ones. Add to that support the Family Critical Illness Plan which provides up to $300,000 in critical illness coverage.
No medical is required when you sign up, which makes it easy for you and your family to get the insurance coverage you need.
Benefits and Special Features:
- Provides coverage for you and up to FIVE of your eligible family members.
- Access up to $300,000 should one of your covered family members become diagnosed with: cancer, heart attack, stroke, paralysis, major burns and coma.
- You or your eligible family member may enrol for coverage up to the age of 59 and for children prior to the age of 26.
- Permanently disabled children are covered up to the age of 75 once enrolled before 26.

Life Savings Insurance
Loan Protection Insurance
Advance Protector Insurance
This member contributory insurance plan also aims to provide insurance coverage on members’ loans. Insurable loan balances are paid off in the event of a member’s death or if they become totally and permanently disabled. The maximum insurable loan balance is $1,000,000.00.
Loan protection coverage under the Advance Protector Insurance ceases at age 75.
Upon the death of a member, the Society must receive the Death Certificate and National ID Card of the deceased in order for the claims to be submitted and processed. For Total and Permanent Disability claims, the Attending Physician’s Statement of Disability is required.
